Fixed-fee work, scoped before it starts

Three core engagements and a short list of add-on modules. Every fee below is a Canadian-dollar starting point for a fleet of up to 100 vehicles at a single depot; larger or multi-site programmes are quoted from the same rate card.

Engagement 01

Sightline

Sixty days of measured duty cycles, turned into a per-vehicle verdict.

Sightline is the study we recommend to almost every first-time client. It answers the only question worth asking at the start: of the vehicles you own today, which ones could be replaced by an electric equivalent without changing how the work gets done?

We install loggers, leave them for a full winter window, and return a register that rates every sampled unit as ready, conditional or unsuitable — with the reason attached to each. The first-cut cost comparison that accompanies it is deliberately conservative: no incentive is counted until eligibility is confirmed in writing.

Included

  • Kick-off workshop with fleet and finance staff
  • Logger supply, installation and removal
  • 60 days of one-second telemetry
  • Per-vehicle readiness register
  • Ten-year cost comparison, base case and two sensitivities
  • Incentive eligibility screen
  • Findings presentation to council, board or executive
  • All raw data handed over in CSV and Parquet

Engagement 02

Groundwork

Everything between the property line and the charging cable.

Groundwork is an electrical study of the yard itself. We survey the incoming service, the switchboard and the spare capacity that is genuinely available rather than nominally rated. We model the demand your dwell windows create, test scheduling scenarios against it, and only then decide whether an upgrade is required.

The deliverable is written to be handed straight to an electrical contractor or included in a tender package: single-line drawings, charger positions with cable runs, a load letter for the utility, and a costed scope with a contingency band.

Included

  • Two site surveys, including one after dark at shift change
  • Service and switchboard capacity assessment
  • 24-hour demand model, unmanaged and scheduled
  • Charger siting plan with cable routing and snow-clearance allowance
  • Meeting with your local distribution utility, and the load letter
  • Costed electrical scope, Class D estimate
  • Demand charge and tariff analysis for your rate class

Engagement 03

Corridor

A five-year transition, managed and re-forecast quarterly.

Corridor is for organisations that have decided to proceed and now need the transition to survive contact with budget cycles, procurement rules and staff turnover. It assumes Sightline and Groundwork are complete, or absorbs them at a reduced combined fee.

We build the replacement schedule around your existing capital plan, prepare the funding applications, write and evaluate the tenders, supervise the pilot season, and revise the forecast every quarter as electricity rates, incentives and used-vehicle values change. You get a named lead adviser for the full term.

Included

  • Five-year, vehicle-by-vehicle replacement schedule
  • Capital and operating budget lines in CAD, by fiscal year
  • Funding applications to federal and provincial programmes
  • Tender drafting and evaluation matrices
  • Pilot season supervision and variance reporting
  • Quarterly re-forecast and steering report
  • Two readiness workshops for drivers and technicians
  • Named lead adviser, twelve-month term

Add-on modules

Bought on their own or bolted onto a study

Existing clients can add any module mid-engagement. Organisations that have not worked with us before can buy modules directly, provided recent duty-cycle data already exists.

Fees and terms

How we bill

All engagements are fixed-fee against a written scope. We do not bill hourly, because hourly billing rewards the wrong thing on a study that should end when the question is answered.

  • 40% on signature, 40% at the modelling milestone, 20% on final delivery.
  • Travel, accommodation and logger shipping are billed at cost with receipts, capped at 8% of the fee.
  • GST/HST applies at the rate of the client’s province.
  • Scope changes are priced in writing before any work begins.
  • Public-sector clients may substitute their own standard contract; we will work to it.

Eligibility

Who we can help

Sprour works with fleets of ten or more light- and medium-duty vehicles — classes 1 through 6 — operating from at least one depot the organisation controls.

  • Yes: municipalities, utilities, health authorities, distributors, trades contractors, school boards, First Nations governments, property managers.
  • Not our field: long-haul class 8 tractors, transit buses, marine and rail, and single-vehicle owner-operators.
  • Too early: organisations without a depot or yard they control. We will say so at intake rather than sell you a study.
